This course is designed for the Internet novice and includes an introduction to Internet browsers and navigational features, simple searches, setting bookmarks and printing.

Prerequisites

Participants must have Windows experience. Knowledge of file management is helpful.

Module 1: What's in a Name?

  • Understanding basic Internet terminology
  • Internet addresses

Module 2: Using Browser Software

  • Introduction to Internet Explorer
  • Introduction to Netscape
  • Using Netscape and Explorer to move around the Internet
  • Entering Internet addresses
  • Using "Links" and other navigational tools
  • Printing from the Internet

  • Understanding the terminology of searches
  • Doing basic searches

Module 4: Efficient Internet Usage

  • Create and organize Bookmarks (Netscape) or Favorites (Explorer)
  • Use the History List (Explorer) and History Folder
